Blood test may track heart drug effectiveness in rare amyloid disease

NCT ID NCT07196839

First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 32 times

Summary

This study measures levels of amyloid proteins in the blood of 50 adults with transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy (ATTR-CM) who are taking standard TTR-stabilizing medications like tafamidis or acoramidis. Researchers want to see if these drugs lower amyloid levels over three months, which could lead to a simple blood test to monitor treatment response. Participants must be between 30 and 80 years old with a history of heart failure or elevated heart-related biomarkers.
