New eye drop aims to tame uveitis inflammation
NCT ID NCT05042609
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This phase 3 trial tested TRS01 eye drops in 142 people with active non-infectious anterior uveitis, an inflammatory eye condition that can cause pain and vision loss. Participants used the drops four times a day, and researchers measured how well the drug reduced inflammation compared to a standard steroid eye drop. The goal is to find a safe and effective treatment to control the disease.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
TRS01 eye drops
What this could lead to
If successful, TRS01 could offer a new treatment option for controlling inflammation in non-infectious anterior uveitis, potentially reducing reliance on steroids.
What could go wrong
This is a phase 3 trial, but results are not yet published. The drug may not prove more effective than existing steroid drops, and side effects are still being evaluated.
