First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This early-phase trial tests an oral drug called Trineumin (PRG-N-01) in 25 adults with neurofibromatosis type II (NF2), a genetic condition that causes non-cancerous tumors on nerves. The study has two parts: first finding a safe dose, then checking if that dose can shrink tumors and improve hearing or quality of life. Participants take the drug daily for 96 weeks with regular clinic visits.

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Trineumin (also called PRG-N-01), an oral drug taken once daily
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a treatment that shrinks tumors and improves hearing and quality of life for people with NF2.
What could go wrong
This is an early, small trial (25 people) testing safety and dosing first. It may not show clear benefit, and side effects are unknown. Even if promising, years of larger studies are needed.
