New quiz could help dentists stop unnecessary tooth work for hidden nerve pain

NCT ID NCT07453511

Summary

This study is testing a new questionnaire designed to help dentists and doctors identify a severe facial pain condition called trigeminal neuralgia. The goal is to see if the questionnaire can accurately spot patients who might have this condition, which is often mistaken for a toothache, so they can be referred to a specialist sooner. About 250 adults visiting a hospital facial pain clinic will fill out the questionnaire, and researchers will compare their answers to the specialist's final diagnosis to see how well the tool works.
