First seen Nov 19, 2025 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study is testing whether measuring nerve signals during a procedure called rhizotomy can help doctors better target the treatment for trigeminal neuralgia, a condition that causes severe facial pain. Researchers will record these signals from the face and brain in about 30 adults scheduled for the procedure, as well as in healthy volunteers. The goal is to see if this approach is feasible and could lead to more personalized treatment.
