New heart valve fix could help High-Risk patients avoid major surgery

NCT ID NCT06700239

Summary

This study is testing a new device called the MIA-T system, which is designed to repair a leaky tricuspid heart valve without open-heart surgery. It will involve 600 patients who have severe valve leakage causing symptoms like shortness of breath, and who are considered too high-risk for traditional surgery. The goal is to see if this less invasive procedure is safe and can help patients live longer, avoid hospital stays for heart failure, and prevent the need for future valve surgeries.
