Cancer rash drug trial halted early – little known
NCT ID NCT04697069
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This small, early-stage trial tested a drug called imsidolimab for treating acne-like skin rashes that can occur in cancer patients taking certain targeted therapies. Only 4 people were enrolled before the study was stopped. Because of the very small size and early termination, we cannot draw any reliable conclusions about whether the drug works or is safe.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Imsidolimab (ANB019), a humanized monoclonal antibody
What this could lead to
If it worked, this could point toward a treatment for the painful skin rash that some cancer patients get from their medications.
What could go wrong
The trial was terminated early with only 4 participants, so we have very little data. It is unclear if the drug is effective or safe for this use.
