Could common drugs stop dangerous sugar crashes?

NCT ID NCT05174507

Summary

This study aimed to see if two existing drugs could help people with prediabetes who experience dangerous drops in blood sugar after eating. It planned to test empagliflozin (a diabetes drug) and anakinra (an anti-inflammatory drug) against a placebo. The goal was to reduce the number and severity of these low blood sugar episodes. However, the study was withdrawn before any participants were enrolled.
