Immune-Boosting drugs tested against devastating brain fluid cancer
NCT ID NCT02939300
Summary
This study tested a combination of two immunotherapy drugs, ipilimumab and nivolumab, for a serious condition where cancer spreads to the fluid surrounding the brain and spinal cord. It involved 18 adults with this advanced complication from various solid tumors. The goal was to see if these drugs, which help the immune system fight cancer, could improve survival and control the disease in this hard-to-treat area.
