Face cream trial aims to ease painful side effect of cancer drugs

NCT ID NCT06358677

Summary

This study is testing if a common acne cream (tretinoin) can prevent or reduce a severe, acne-like rash that is a common and painful side effect of certain cancer drugs. In a unique 'split-face' design, 25 adults with advanced solid tumors will apply the test cream to one side of their face and a placebo moisturizer to the other side. Researchers will compare the sides to see if the cream helps control the rash, aiming to improve patients' quality of life during treatment.
