First seen Apr 21, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study tests whether levodopa, a drug used for Parkinson's disease, can slow the early blood vessel changes in the eyes of people with diabetes. About 244 participants with early signs of diabetic retinopathy will take the drug and be monitored with eye tests and blood sugar checks. The goal is to see if the treatment can delay vision loss.
