Higher sleep drug dose may pose risk for seniors with kidney issues

NCT ID NCT07381101

Summary

This study looked at whether starting a higher dose of the sleep and depression medication trazodone is riskier than a lower dose for older adults with reduced kidney function. Researchers analyzed health records of over 31,000 people aged 66 and older in Ontario. They compared the chance of being hospitalized, visiting the emergency room, or dying within 30 days for those on higher versus lower doses.
