Can a Milk-Based capsule stop Traveler's diarrhea? volunteers drink bacteria to find out

NCT ID NCT05933525

Summary

This study tested if a product called Travelan could prevent moderate-to-severe diarrhea in healthy adults. Sixty volunteers took either Travelan or a placebo (inactive look-alike) for a week and were then intentionally given bacteria that commonly cause traveler's diarrhea. Researchers measured who got sick and how severe their symptoms were to see if Travelan offered protection.
