Summary

This study looked at how childhood and lifetime trauma impact jaw function and quality of life in people with temporomandibular joint disorder (TMD). Researchers compared 102 adults with TMD to healthy volunteers using questionnaires about trauma, jaw function, and mental health. The goal was to understand how trauma contributes to TMD severity and to highlight the need for trauma screening in routine care.
