Radical transplant trial offers hope for patients with 'Jelly Belly' cancer

NCT ID NCT06084780

Summary

This study is testing whether transplanting intestines and other abdominal organs can help people with a rare, advanced abdominal cancer called pseudomyxoma peritonei when other treatments aren't possible. Twenty patients who cannot have their tumors surgically removed will receive an intestinal or multivisceral transplant. Researchers will follow patients for one year to see if this approach improves survival and is safe.
