Prostate biopsy without antibiotics: a safer approach?
NCT ID NCT07557901
First seen May 07, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026
Summary
This study looks at whether men can safely have a prostate biopsy without taking antibiotics beforehand. The biopsy is done through the perineum, which already has a low infection risk. Researchers will compare infection rates in 300 men who either get antibiotics or not, to see if skipping them is just as safe.
