Scientists hunt for early warning signs of deadly transfusion reaction
NCT ID NCT06444750
Summary
This study aims to find biological markers in the blood that can help doctors diagnose Transfusion-Related Acute Lung Injury (TRALI), a severe but rare reaction to blood transfusions. Researchers will compare blood samples from 210 intensive care patients, including those with TRALI, other lung conditions, and healthy volunteers. By analyzing these samples, they hope to understand what causes TRALI and develop better ways to detect it, which could make blood transfusions safer.
