Can imaging techs safely start your IV? new training program aims to find out

NCT ID NCT07411430

Summary

This study is testing a new training program for imaging technologists (the staff who operate CT and MRI machines) to learn how to safely place the small IV needed for contrast dye injections. Researchers want to see if the training improves the technologists' skills, reduces complications like bruising, and leads to a better, less painful experience for patients. The study will involve about 9 technologists and 384 patients at a single hospital in Italy.
