Doctors get special training to cut unnecessary pills for seniors

NCT ID NCT05507177

Summary

This study tested whether special communication training for doctors and pharmacists could help them work with patients aged 75 and older to safely stop or reduce diabetes and heart medications. Teams of healthcare providers were randomly assigned to receive the training either before or after reviewing their patients' medications. The main goal was to see if trained teams successfully reduced more medications while involving patients in the decision.
