First seen Apr 24, 2026 · Last updated May 03, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study tests a new way to support people with HIV in rural Uganda. Traditional healers will be trained to offer HIV testing, counseling, and help with starting and staying on medication. The goal is to see if this extra support helps more people achieve an undetectable viral load, meaning the virus is under control. The study involves 650 adults who either have a detectable viral load or are newly diagnosed.
