New test could help tracheostomy patients breathe easier
NCT ID NCT07107243
Summary
This study aims to test a new, non-invasive method to check if patients with a long-term tracheostomy tube can breathe normally through their nose and throat. Researchers will compare this new test, which uses a speaking valve and pressure measurement, against the standard method of looking inside the airway with a camera. The goal is to see if the simpler test can accurately predict if the upper airway is open and working properly.
