Donor aortic patch offers new hope for kids with rare windpipe defects
NCT ID NCT07240259
First seen Nov 20, 2025 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study tests whether a patch made from a donor's aorta (the large blood vessel from the heart) can safely repair damaged or narrowed windpipes in 5 children. The children in this study cannot have standard surgery. The main goal is to see if they survive 90 days after the operation, as these surgeries carry a high risk. The study also checks for complications like air leaks, pneumonia, and breathing tube problems.
