Smart device aims to protect ICU Patients' lungs
NCT ID NCT01965821
Summary
This study tested a new electronic device designed to automatically keep the pressure in a breathing tube just right for ICU patients. When the pressure is wrong, it can cause stomach fluids to leak into the lungs or damage the windpipe. Researchers compared how well the device worked against the usual manual method over two 24-hour periods.
