NCT ID NCT06554652
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 25, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study tests whether a less extensive neck surgery (selective neck dissection) is as safe and effective as the standard more extensive surgery (modified neck dissection) for people with papillary thyroid cancer that has spread to only 1-2 small lymph nodes in the side of the neck. The goal is to see if the smaller surgery can prevent cancer from coming back just as well while improving quality of life. About 250 participants will be randomly assigned to one of the two surgeries and followed over time.
