Toy vs. tears: can a simple distraction make IVs less scary for kids?

NCT ID NCT07459517

Summary

This study is testing if using a musical-moving toy as a distraction can help reduce fear in young children during difficult IV placements. It will involve 70 children, aged 4 to 6, who are known to have hard-to-find veins. Researchers will compare fear levels, how many attempts it takes to place the IV, and the total time for the procedure between kids who play with the toy and those who receive standard care.
