First pediatric trial tests new brain tumor drug after standard treatments fail

NCT ID NCT03429803

Summary

This study tested the safety and side effects of an experimental drug called Tovorafenib (DAY101) in children and young adults with recurrent low-grade brain tumors that didn't respond to standard treatments. Researchers wanted to find the highest dose children could tolerate without severe side effects. This was the first time this type of drug was given to children, and it targeted specific genetic changes found in these tumors.
