New radiation approach may improve stem cell transplant outcomes for children

NCT ID NCT06075563

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study compares two types of radiation given before a stem cell transplant in children. One group receives total lymphoid irradiation (TLI), which targets lymph nodes, while the other receives total body irradiation (TBI), which affects the whole body. The goal is to see if TLI leads to better survival with fewer complications like graft failure or graft-versus-host disease. About 23 children aged 0-18 with blood disorders or cancers will take part.
