Scientists probe why Weight-Loss drug works for some teens, not others

NCT ID NCT04986631

Summary

This study aims to understand why the weight-loss medication topiramate works well for some teens with severe obesity but not for others. Researchers will measure drug levels in the blood of 62 participants aged 12-18 over 3.5 months to see how the body processes the drug and connects that to changes in weight and eating habits. The goal is to gather information that could help doctors personalize dosing in the future to improve treatment effectiveness.
