Spray-on drug may cut blood loss in major spine surgery

Summary
This study tests whether applying tranexamic acid directly into the surgical wound, in addition to giving it through an IV, can reduce bleeding and the need for blood transfusions in adults undergoing long spine fusion surgery. About 100 adults aged 18 to 80 with spinal deformity will take part. The goal is to see if this simple addition makes surgery safer and speeds recovery.
