NCT ID NCT07459933
First seen Mar 17, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study tests whether a methotrexate gel applied to the scalp can regrow hair better than the standard minoxidil spray in people with localized alopecia areata (patchy hair loss). About 268 adults aged 18-50 with less than 25% scalp hair loss will use one of the two treatments for 24 weeks. The goal is to see which treatment reduces hair loss more effectively.
