New cream offers hope for women suffering from chronic intimate pain

NCT ID NCT07257029

Summary

This study is testing whether a cream called ketotifen can reduce pain during penetration for women with a chronic vulvar pain condition called vestibulodynia. About 54 women will apply either the ketotifen cream or a placebo cream twice daily for 12 weeks to see if it eases their pain. The goal is to find a new, non-surgical treatment option for this condition, which currently has no FDA-approved medications.
