NCT ID NCT07287566

First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study looked at whether brushing children's teeth with a special antiseptic mouthwash (chlorhexidine) could lower their risk of getting a lung infection while on a breathing machine in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). The researchers compared this special mouth care to the usual cleaning routine. The goal was to see if this simple step could prevent infections, shorten time on the breathing machine, and improve survival.
