Blood-Based gel aims to regrow teeth after failed root canals

NCT ID NCT07448571

Summary

This study is testing a new approach to treat teeth where a previous root canal has failed and an infection has returned. Researchers are comparing the standard re-treatment procedure against a new regenerative method that uses a gel made from the patient's own blood (i-PRF), which may help the tooth heal better and possibly regrow some internal tissue. About 140 adults with a specific type of infected tooth will be randomly assigned to one of the two treatments and followed for two years to see which leads to better healing and longer-lasting results.
