New study pits two filling methods against each other for better dental care
NCT ID NCT06667271
First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study looked at two ways to fix cavities in back teeth using tooth-colored materials. 90 adults with decay got either a direct filling (placed right in the mouth) or an indirect one (made in a lab and then cemented in). The goal was to see which type holds up better over time. Both methods are already used, but this research helps dentists choose the best option for larger cavities.
