Summary
This study compares two surgical approaches for children aged 3-17 who need their tonsils removed due to sleep problems or tonsil infections. One group gets standard tonsillectomy, while the other also receives a lateral pharyngoplasty (a small adjustment to nearby throat tissue). Researchers want to see if the extra step leads to less pain, better eating and drinking, and fewer bleeding complications after surgery. Parents will track their child's recovery at home using pain scales and daily intake logs.
