Could a common childhood surgery help straighten spines?
NCT ID NCT07332780
Summary
This study is testing whether a surgery to remove tonsils and adenoids (adenotonsillectomy) can slow or prevent the worsening of spinal curvature (scoliosis) in children who also have mild sleep-disordered breathing. Researchers will compare children who get the surgery early to those who wait and receive supportive care, tracking their spine curves over two years. The goal is to see if treating the breathing problem can help control the spinal condition.
