This study tested a new, safe ultrasound method to measure tongue stiffness and fat in 55 healthy adults aged 18-45. The goal was to create a standard protocol for future research on tongue fat buildup, which is linked to sleep apnea. Participants lay on their backs while a painless ultrasound was done under the chin.
