Vapes vs. patches: new study tests smoking switch for addiction patients

Summary

This study looks at whether switching to e-cigarettes (nicotine vapes) can help people who smoke and are in treatment for substance use disorder quit cigarettes. About 240 participants will either use e-cigarettes or FDA-approved nicotine patches and lozenges. The study lasts 6 months and includes in-person visits and daily phone check-ins.
