NCT ID NCT01580618
First seen Apr 15, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study tested whether a drug called TNK could safely and effectively drain trapped fluid from the lungs of cancer patients. Twenty adults with cancer and a loculated pleural effusion (fluid that cannot be fully drained with a tube) received either TNK or a saltwater solution through their chest tube. The goal was to see if TNK helped drain more fluid and whether it caused bleeding complications.
