Magnetic pulses target teen brains in depression breakthrough trial

NCT ID NCT05652465

Summary

This study is testing whether a non-invasive brain stimulation technique called TMS, combined with talk therapy, can help teenagers with depression that hasn't improved with standard treatments. Researchers will enroll 80 teens aged 13-17 who have tried at least three other depression treatments without success. Participants will receive daily magnetic pulses to specific brain areas while temporarily off their medications, followed by several weeks of monitoring to assess safety and potential benefits.
