Zapping the brain to fight addiction: new study tests magnetic therapy

NCT ID NCT07171359

Summary

This study is testing whether a non-invasive brain stimulation technique, called Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), can help people with opioid or alcohol addiction. It will see if adding TMS to standard rehab therapy helps people stay engaged in treatment, reduces cravings, and improves their mental health. The study will involve 60 adults already enrolled in an outpatient rehab program.
