Brain zaps tested to ease unexplained weakness

NCT ID NCT05829005

Summary

This pilot study tested whether a non-invasive brain stimulation technique could improve movement symptoms in people with functional neurological disorder. 51 adults with unexplained limb weakness were randomly assigned to receive either a real or a weaker version of the stimulation. The goal was to see if making a weak limb move during treatment could help patients relearn normal movement and reduce their symptoms.
