New radiation combo aims to improve leukemia transplant outcomes

NCT ID NCT03467386

First seen Feb 17, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This early-phase study tests a new way to prepare adults with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) for a donor stem cell transplant. Instead of full-body radiation, it uses targeted radiation to the bone marrow and lymph nodes, followed by a drug called cyclophosphamide to help prevent graft-versus-host disease. The goal is to see if this approach is safe and effective for patients whose AML is in remission.
