Summary

This study looks at why some people have higher levels of TMAO—a compound linked to heart disease—after eating red meat. Researchers will test if a specific gene in gut bacteria can predict TMAO levels. 65 healthy adults will eat a large amount of beef, and their blood and stool will be analyzed. The goal is to better understand individual differences in heart disease risk from red meat.
