First seen Dec 04, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study compares a new nerve-sparing surgery (TLSA) to the standard surgery (TBSA) for people with a hiatal hernia and acid reflux that doesn't improve with medication. The goal is to see if TLSA leads to better quality of life by avoiding damage to a nerve that controls stomach and gallbladder function. About 143 adults aged 18-85 will take part, and the main focus is on their digestive health and well-being after surgery.
