Cheap elastic bands could rival pricey Muscle-Growth machines, study hints
NCT ID NCT06512961
First seen Feb 15, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study looks at whether tissue flossing—wrapping an elastic band around a limb—can safely and reliably restrict blood flow during exercise, similar to expensive blood flow restriction devices. Researchers will test 34 healthy adults to see if this low-cost method produces consistent results and is comfortable. The goal is to find an affordable way to help people build muscle strength without heavy weights.
