New hope for rare Fat-Loss disorder? diabetes drug enters trial

NCT ID NCT07091734

Summary

This study is testing if a medication called Tirzepatide, already used for diabetes, can help adults with a rare condition called partial lipodystrophy. People with this disorder lose fat tissue abnormally, which often leads to poorly controlled diabetes and high blood fats. Researchers want to see if taking Tirzepatide for 24 weeks improves blood sugar control and lowers triglycerides better than not taking it.
