Diabetes drug trial aims to stop colon cancer before it starts

NCT ID NCT07095517

Summary

This early-stage study is testing whether tirzepatide, a medication used for diabetes and weight loss, might help prevent colorectal cancer in younger adults. Researchers will give the weekly injection to 20 participants aged 18-50 who have had precancerous colon polyps removed. They will collect blood, urine, and stool samples to look for biological signs that the drug is reducing cancer risk.
