First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study tested whether adding the drug tirofiban after a mechanical clot removal procedure improves recovery in people with a severe type of stroke caused by a large blockage. About 1,380 adults who had a stroke within the last 24 hours took part. The goal was to see if tirofiban could prevent the blood vessel from reclogging and improve blood flow to the brain, leading to better function and less disability at 90 days.
