First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 30 times
Summary
This study looked at whether giving the drug tirofiban after a mechanical clot removal procedure helps people recover better from a severe stroke. About 1380 adults with a large blood clot in the front part of the brain were treated within 24 hours of symptoms starting. The goal was to see if tirofiban could prevent the artery from reclogging and improve blood flow to the brain, leading to more people being able to live independently after 90 days.
