Nerve zaps and custom music could quiet chronic tinnitus

NCT ID NCT07469969

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests if a new treatment—mild nerve stimulation on the ear plus personalized music—can reduce the annoyance of chronic tinnitus (ringing in the ears) better than standard therapy. About 386 adults with bothersome tinnitus for at least 6 months will be randomly assigned to either the new combo or standard sound therapy. The main goal is to see how many people report meaningful improvement after 3 months.
